About

Our Mission

Pride in Dallas is a 100% volunteer-based organization and was formed through the overwhelming support of the local LGBTQ+ community. Pride in Dallas serves to provide celebrations of LGBTQ+ Pride in the heart of the queer Dallas community. Our mission drives us to deepen the connection LGBTQ+ individuals have to the safe spaces that have cultivated and supported Pride celebrations since their inception, and facilitate events that inspire, educate, commemorate, and celebrate our diverse community.

What We Do

Pride in Dallas, located in the vibrant LGBTQIA+ neighborhood of Oak Lawn, is a non-profit organization committed to celebrating and supporting the diverse LGBTQIA+ community of the Dallas Metroplex. Rooted in the very neighborhood where Pride first began in Dallas, the organization fosters collaboration and inclusivity through impactful educational programs, large-scale events, and ongoing outreach efforts. Pride in Dallas also focuses on fundraising initiatives to sustain its mission of empowerment and advocacy, ensuring that the spirit of Pride remains a beacon of unity, self-expression, and community connection for all.

Our History

Pride in Dallas was established to rekindle the tradition of celebrating Pride in the historic Oak Lawn neighborhood, the heart of Dallas’ LGBTQIA+ culture. This area hosted Dallas’ first Pride parade in 1972 and remains a vibrant symbol of the community’s resilience and history. After Dallas Pride events moved to Fair Park in 2019, Pride in Dallas was formed to ensure the neighborhood’s legacy as the epicenter of Pride celebrations continued. Now gearing up for its fourth annual parade on Cedar Springs Road, Pride in Dallas continues to honor the spirit of inclusivity, connection, and empowerment that defines the LGBTQIA+ community in Dallas.
