Pride in Dallas

Privacy Policy

Pride in Dallas is a brand-new, 100% volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Dallas, Texas. We care deeply about the privacy of the people who visit our website, sign up for our newsletter, attend our events, and trust us with their information. This policy explains, in plain English, what we collect and what we do with it.

Who We Are

Pride in Dallas is a grassroots LGBTQ+ community organization and registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit operating in Dallas, Texas. You can reach us any time at [email protected].

What Information We Collect

We try to collect as little as possible. Today, the only personal information we actively collect is:

  • Name and email address, when you sign up for our newsletter or RSVP to an event.
  • Messages you send us, when you email [email protected] or reply to one of our announcements.

Our website does not run Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, Hotjar, or any other third-party analytics or advertising tracker. Standard web-server logs may temporarily record IP addresses and browser information for security and debugging; those logs are not linked to newsletter or RSVP data.

How We Use Your Information

We use the name and email you share with us to:

  • Send you announcements about upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, and community news.
  • Confirm your RSVPs and share event-specific details such as location, accessibility, and safety information.
  • Respond to questions or feedback you send us directly.

We never sell, rent, or trade your information. We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or building marketing segments.

Who Can See Your Information

Your information is accessible only to the small group of Pride in Dallas volunteer organizers who need it to do their jobs — for example, the volunteer who sends the newsletter or the volunteer managing RSVPs for a given event. We do not share names or email addresses with sponsors, partners, press, or any other third party.

Third-Party Services We Rely On

Like most small nonprofits, we depend on a few outside tools to keep the lights on. Currently those include:

  • Google Fonts — our site loads the Inter, Fraunces, and JetBrains Mono typefaces from Google Fonts’ CDN. Loading a font can reveal your IP address to Google, but no cookies are set on prideindallas.org.
  • WordPress Studio / Playground — during development and staging, this site runs on WordPress Studio. When we launch on a production host, we will update this page with that host’s name and privacy posture.

We explicitly do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, TikTok Pixel, or any similar tracking products.

How Long We Keep Your Information

We hold on to your newsletter signup until you unsubscribe or email us and ask to be removed. RSVPs are kept through the end of the event they relate to, plus a short window afterward so we can follow up with thank-yous or safety information. If you ask us to delete your information entirely, we will do so promptly.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the information we have about you.
  • Correct anything that is wrong.
  • Delete your information entirely.
  • Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] and we will respond within a reasonable amount of time.

Children’s Privacy

Pride in Dallas supports youth in our community, but our website and newsletter are designed for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has shared information with us, please email [email protected] and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We are a new organization and expect this policy to evolve. When we make meaningful changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, send a note to our newsletter subscribers.

Contact

Questions, concerns, or requests about this policy can always be sent to [email protected]. We are real humans and we will reply.
